Got serious with the blockage with a screwdriver. Got it clear and now runs clear water. This crap came out. Looks like sand. Could this be Bars Leaks like Dave suggested.
Core seems leakfree but I am not game to take the risk.
Why did the PO put the leak stuff in it for anyway.

At some point the factory changed to plastic end-tanks in the heater. I've never seen one with my own eyes but apparently aftermarket brass ones are available.
I know japanese car radiators all seem to crack plastic end tanks within 10% of 200,000km.
Oh crap, just realised my work car has 190,000km on it.

You are right Dougal. The plastic tanks fit the moulded plastic housing like a glove. Bought a replacement core from Jag spares in Tassie and its copper and brass. It has square tank corners rather than rounded so would not fit in the housing without a bit of work with the die grinder.
All back in and connected but not putting the dash bottom back untill I gas up the aircon.

Any updates on this one Keith ??
Just askin' :D

Yes. Sorry.
All up and running again. Aircon with the Hichill works a treat.
Doing our monthly trip to Brissie on Wednesday so will be able to keep cool:D
I am only running at half throttle ATM as it looks as if I have another dicky disc in my back. Pinched nerve etc.:(
