DIY LT230 Centre diff Mod to make it RWD but still locks it the same way for 4WD

Remove centre diff and pull it apart and remove small spider gears off the cross shafts. The large spider gear that drives the rear drive shaft you need to weld this to the carrier. Secondly the front large spider gear that drives the front shaft this will free wheel. Only thing it can pop out. You need to weld a washer to one of your cross shafts making sure it has some clearance to the front spider gear which this will prevent it from popping out. Thats it and its simple.
    Nice one!

    I did a 5L and T700 setup. I fitted it to a
LT 95 trans case. I found it to be a slug. Even with the vehicle basically gutted it just didn't go like I wanted. My old 318 4 speed setup was much better to drive.
As for Rwd vs normal lt230 I didn't like how the rangie drove just off the back end on any surface. They just don't turn as well. The Ashcroft center in the lt230 would be the best bet for getting the power down to all 4 wheels.
Free wheeling hubs just add something that can brake and for what gain. If you have a big v8 up front, saying saving a bit of fuel is a joke.
