    1981 2-door master cylinder and booster upgrade

    Hi All, apologies if discussed prior but I would like to upgrade my booster and mc to the later non-abs type.. i know ill need to change threads... is this a straight swap of parts or is there more too it I don't know off please?

    G`day Russell ,

    depends on the vin of your 2 door , 81 was the year they went metric .

    The two type of mastercylinders ( pre and post metric ) also differ internally which would require the pipes , if forward to be rearward and/or visa versa .

    The change vin is 112612 it and post should be metric .

    Hi Peter,

    I'm on a very small phone in HoiAn, Vietnam struggling typing.. not sure why I said 81 cos it a 76 definitely with imperial fittings. From what you are saying the later booster should fit on but I need to work out the different plumbing to match front to front.. bending Bundy and getting new fittings fitted is not hard... thanks for the info... planning to get stuck into it when I get home next week. And yes Lse is gone... to a good home it seems... needed some talc but was running well...wasn't using it enough so for economic reasons needed to cut down and the 2 door is on club plates. Going to put later model dash and heater in,new dash top. Recaro seats and heat sound proof it. Boss should somewhat approveIt but still won't be an Lse.. thanks again... just need to source the bitsnow.
