    RRC Tailgate locks

Any good alternative to the standard RRC tailgate locks? Mine tend to pop open when off road so I was wondering if anyone has come up with some mods to improve the standard catch?

Thanks for the info and links. Have done the mods. Works an absolute treat. Just used standard mounted hardware from a local strut shop. No special brackets required. Highly recommend this mod to anyone with a classic. Makes a huge difference

Have those as well. Had to put in some new seals around the tailgate recently. Just a little stiffer than the compressed 20 year old ones . Combination of the new seals and strut position just meant that the new latches pop pretty easy off road. Usually one goes and then the strut pressure on the on unlatched side provides enough push on the tailgate to unlatch the other side.

Sure. I have just taken some more. Excuse the quality. Its night time and the phone is only so good. Car is also a little dusty as I have just got back from camping. Obtained my hardware from StrutsrUs at Nerang on the Gold Coast. I have attached a photo of what I used for the bottom bracket and the top bracket. Also included photos showing them mounted. I have just pop riveted then in place on the available metal. Seems pretty secure and this was the recommendation from the strut shop. I went off the measurements provide in the previous thread that I was sent a link to but adjusted things slightly to make sure everything closed OK. Let me know if you need any more info
