Those old york compressors seem to last forever. Can you kill them ? :) I'm guessing a newie will outlast the car. I've heard there great for conversion to continuous onboard air.

I'm always amazed at how cheap "car stuff" in the US is. Have you seen the engine masters program the roadkill guys are doing. There "hammered headers" is an eye opener .... "Ok, hammering dents into the headers makes power" :Rolling:

I am going to have to "hammer" one primary pipe on headers it was sitting hard up on chassis rail. There is an indent in pipe (factory made) but it is in wrong place. So one cylinder will see all the benefits of a "hammered" finish:) mike

They do. :). Used the old one from my 3.5 as a compressor for endless air in the 101 - I did a detailed write up of the installation. Pumps up a 30 litre air tank to 120PSI in under a minute at idle. :). Has its own oil supply in its sump, so is ideal in this application. For pumping up the 255/100 16's it beats the crap out of a small 12 volt unit. Bonus is I hung a truck horn off it too so it has something to do between pumping up my tyres. :D
