77 2 Door ready for Panel and Paint

Well all stripped (as much as I am doing) off to Panel and paint Monday morning. Next posts hopefully will look a bit different from this. Looking forward to not working on rust/dirt/bitumastic!

Delivered yesterday. Let the fun begin! The mechanic next door has been tasked with changing out all suspension bushes/ball joints while body is off. I supplied all OEM rubbers, except pan hard rod which I will use urethane in. Chassis is getting blasted as well, was going to use the Rustbusters Epoxy Mastic 121 to coat it and underbody bits. Seems to get good reviews in UK forums. Anyone have experience in it? Paint shop thought it looked the business. They do ute liners as well and thought it was similar. Car turned out to be reasonable. Chassis is sound, body has rust in all usual places. Front left sill/floor rotten, right side good. Right rear (behind fuel tank breather/baffle) rotten, left side ok. Firewall not bad, footwells as expected, and front guard wings, the box section that guard bolts to needs a bit of work. Light boxes well as expected. I don't think this will be finished in near future!

I am also rebuilding a 77 2 door. I will follow your thread, interested in what you do and tips/tricks. Mine has rested floors, sills and lower pillars that ill replace with parts from uk most likely. I got videos of it on my youtube channel (see signature) if you want to looks at mine in comparison.

Also, if you have found a supplier that is reasonably priced i like to know about it too.

    cheers,
