Roads?.. Where we're going, we don't need roads...
My experience with the KBS paints is a good one so far.
BUT! I am sandblasting everything and then spraying it on in a booth. If I had to hand apply it, I am not so sure.
So if you are going to hand apply it, unfortunately I can not give you any feedback.
I will post some more pictures soon, I have been away working but before I left I did another batch of bit's and pieces.
KBS is just POR15 ... though it sounds like they have finally added some UV protection to it. It applies by brush very very well. It is incredibly toxic, don't spray it without an air fed mask.
I'm not convinced with using it as a primer. It dries to a ceramic like finish and really sucks bigtime to coat unless you stay within the recoat window.
I would have throught after sandblasting a quality epoxy primer would have been the best primer/coating
For brush coating, POR/KBS is brilliant. How will you ever overcoat it and do the bodywork though within the re-coat window? It really does suck to key.

The KBS Rustseal is definitely not UV resistant. KBS sell a paint called Topcoat which comes in gloss and matt, which is their recommended UV resistant paint.
Putting the solid 2 Pac directly over the Rustseal was easy and stuck like --- to a blanket, two coats of Rustseal diluted with 10% thinners then two coats of 2 Pac all in about 4 hours.
KBS recommend a 24hr window for 2 Pac over Rustseal, after that you would have a hard time scuffing it up.
I know a guy that did the same thing with POR15 on his Citroen 2cv. You know, that must be 5years ago, and I've he's not ever said he's had an issue with delamination etc... So it may well be a very effective undercoat if you can work with the re-coat window around bodywork repairs etc I'l hit google and see if I can find his thread.

He used the tie coat product that allows you to over-coat the POR/KBS ( KBS will have the same product available).

A couple more shots of the latest panels I had painted.
They are not securely fastened yet as I am still in search of fasteners that I am happy with.
Mint! Very nice great work
That's some great work, im sure that even in the factory it never looked that good. I'm about to begin the tear down of my 78. Now I'm no mechanical genius so in order to get the engine bay prepped for painting I'm going to have to outsource the removal of the engine. Can you guys give me a reasonable figure on what I should expect to pay to have it removed, understand that it's a regional thing but some advice would help in me not getting ripped of. Cheers
