Like the dash - what is that?
A Dakota digital unit see this link. Runs GPS speedo plus their senders. A really nice bit of kit. I made housing that fits in stock dash recess and got it trimmed same as door cards etc.
VHX-1018: Universal 4.4" x 11.4" Recessed Oval, Analog VHX Instrument
Cool bit of kit. Don't tell the Roadworthy guy it's a GPS speedo, they're technically illegal in Australia, but I'm buying one soon for the 101 as I can get my existing one going and that will be a much easier option. No fafffing around with speedo cables and drives, wrong ratios etc - love 'em. :)
Love the that you can use an OBDII interface - that would make installation a snap in more modern vehicles.
Yeah unit came with a pulse sender adapter to convert cable drive to pulse but to mate it to LT95 was going to cost more than GPS sender. Thanks for info re RWC! And yes having speedo correct no matter what tyre or gearing- how good is that. Plus it links to data so when it is in blind spot works on rpm etc[emoji106]
I used a Speedohealer v4 to drive the electronic speedo in my c124, after doing the 6sp manual swap.
trans has no vss, signal from wheelspeed is a VR. speedo input is hall.
So using the propshaft and a honeywell hall sensor to the speedohealer, I have an infallible feed to the speedo in an almost infinite adjustable signal via the speedohealer.
They also make a 2-wire VR, which you can derive a signal from abs sensor / wheelspeed etc, but the hall provides better resolution for my application.
inexpensive, dead easy to configure and has an iphone app for quick and easy adjustment, 2 memory settings for different tyre diameters / diff ratios etc.
Only reason I chose this method was I wanted factory instruments, Mercedes speedo's have callibration for diff ratio in speedo head (for odo) and I had changed ratios as well as transmission.
2 birds with one stone so to speak.

clieck on "special models" halfway down the page if you want to look at the 2-wire inductive (VR) sensor version.
great work and pics , thats inspirational !!!!!
Fitted coil, steering column binnacle and switches. Fixed the as usual broken high beam connection. Bled the clutch- it's working! Fitted power steering reservoir and hoses plus plumbed in radiator. Started on dynamat. Next is cleaning old loom for Electrian to use what he needs. He takes car Monday week. Theres fuel at carby, fluid in power steering and clutch. Not filling radiator yet plus still haven't fitted heater bypass hoses in cabin. Will wire it up first then fit A/c unit which also has heater.

I gather all that engine bay chrome is just an anti rust treatment? [bigwhistle]
Yep and to prove how good it is- that was all chromed back in 1988 when I first did car. It has lived on beach since then- so shows how well good plating lasts👍
