Well I had the plenum off, checked the trumpets. all AOK. Started checking for things like CRACKS in engine mounts and stuff, but nothing...
Like your experience with the exhaust hanger, I too had thoughts like this originally. Mostly because there was no obvious reason for such an instant occurrence.
The noise is still there, more noticeable when the engine is cold, and the same symptoms. i.e. only under load, only at ⅓ or greater throttle and around 2500+rpms.
I'm still sure the diagnosis of crook lifters and cam wear is accurate, but I really want to prove that there is nothing else..
The OM606 swap has been moved into high gear now...
