Clunks are Not Good.
In the Classic, the mechanical wearing bit is the output shaft (rear drive) - the splines wear themselves, and the day you swerve to run over a black cat - and hit the Chinaman as well... is the day they strip, and you have NO drive going to the rear. From there the wallet starts bleeding.[bigsad]
But when working they are awesome in sand - so I'm told.
IF, a very big 'IF', the VC was still produced in sufficient numbers to keep the $$$ at a reasonable figure, I would have replaced mine, kept my Classic in AWD instead of bodgy RWD...and most likely not have pirouetted on that fateful wet day.. and stayed out of the trees.
And I would not have sold it. Maybe.
