When my mate's alarm box failed I just bridged the two wires that disconnect the starter motor. I just tested each terminal with a meter until I found the one that changed state when the key was turned to "start" and then looked for the wire that made the starter go. Can't remember the colours but it wasn't very hard to do. I left the alarm box plugged in and removed the two relays that cause the hazards and horn to come on. The box also controls the central locking from memory.
