BorgWarner Transfer Case VC Serial Numbers??

Over time, I have acquired 2 spare VC transfer cases (assumed requiring rebuilding) with the following details.

13-61-003 - serial numbers 04922 and 003011960 (the latter compliments of Superquag/Lady Sarah).

I assume the first is pretty old, and wondering if anyone can estimate the age of the second and which models each of them will fit - if there are any differences.

Hi Gavin I see you got lots of responses on this...LOL
All I know is my 89 Vogue had a 003 number on it, and the transfer case I took out of Britparts Bin many years ago had a 005 on it.
The difference between the 2 was the 005 had an external sensor on the top, me thinks for a temp sensor.
I have the 005 in my Rangie now as it was in much better condition chain wise and centre diff wise than my 003 that had done 360000kms.
All that was wrong with the one in the bin was the mainshaft splines were worn as they all do, $200.00 later and all good!!
    Kind regards
    Brad

What would life be without a Rangie?

Thanks Brad. Good to know you are still in there providing info.
Knowing that your wee beastie doesn't leak!!!, any chance of checking the actual serial number for the and 005, and the 003 if you still have it? I'd assume the 005 was a later version?
Might have to ask Ashtrans or someone similar for generic info on models and ages.
    Cheers Gavin
