Can they store the car under cover for you until they have time to work on it ?
Hey guys, long time no post as I've been Rangie-less for about five years. I'm back in the game now though with a 1980 two door. It needs some work.
Has some rust in the sills, a little in the foot wells and some in the boot where the spare wheel would sit. Engine is not currently running but am told it was going ok prior to sitting for some months. Ditto the transmission and transfer case. Interior needs a tidy-up but everything is complete and it's an original example.
Unfortunately where I live I have no garage, carport or shed and there's no space to accommodate one, so this is a project that I can't really store and work on myself bit bit which would have been my preferred situation...
So I'm looking for a workshop that I can drop the car at, give them a $xx (not infinite) and let them sort it out for me. I've had a preliminary chat with Andrew at LRA who is going to have a look over the car for me, but he's unsure if he could do it any time soon as the workshop is flat out.
Any other VIC-based recommendations?
Cheers,
Dave

Unfortunately they don't have space for 'dead' cars at the moment. He said the workshop is too small. There are plans to move to a bigger place apparently but no firm timings.
I have somewhere I can keep it for a few months but just not work on it or do a strip down...
There’s a place in Pilgrim crt Ringwood just off Heatherdale rd , that always seems to have some early rangies always an early 2 door there.
Black Stallion Motors
I have no affiliation, just noticed them as I was going to the plumbing supplies store at the end of the crt.
Yeah the guys there at Black Stallion are very busy fellas - The boss is a decent bloke and keeps his word, as far as I can tell. Dealt with them once. Good straight talkers. Busy workshop is a good sign.
What a great colour!!

Will go faster of course...
Work is progressing on the Rangie, pretty much nearly all stripped out now, and have received some rust repair panels from Famous Four in the UK to sort out both sills and the footwells. Great supplier to deal with - very efficient.
More photos to come.

HI DaveG Where did you end up sending your car for the work to be done?
G'day Mark.
The mechanical work is being done by Garagista: Garagista - Automotive repair centre - Moolap, Victoria, Australia | Facebook - 11 reviews - 707 photos and bodywork by Geelong Classic Paint: Geelong Classic Paint - Home | Facebook
Very convenient as both shops are located within 50 metres of each other. Thus far Murray @ Garagista and Stuart at Classic paint have been great to deal with. Stuart is also working on another 2-door RRC at the moment while Murray has a Land Rover Series 2a project on the go.
Cheers
