    4HP24 into RRC

I noticed in a post that Gavin installed a 4hp24 into his LSE. My auto is on its way out and wondering what is involved with installing a later model gb into a 95Classic. I don’t want to go manual.

    4HP24 into RRC

There are two auto gearboxes fitted to rangie classics.
Chrysler torqueflight and zf hp 22.
The zf hp24 was fitted to p38’s and is roughly 24 mm overall longer , it’s a bit stronger than the 22.
I’m not sure how the extra length is dealt with .
    Is the prop shaft shorter?
You should find more 22’s available than 24’s but if you already have one the why not.

Isn't the HP24as fitted to a 38A the EH version which is electronically controlled by a computer?

You could rebuild a 4hp22 as a 4hp24 but the driveshafts have to be changed as the 24 is longer than a 22. You could also run a stand alone computer to run it.
Ashcrofts can do this. Have a look at their site.

    HP22 with HP24 internals

A&P Automotive in Dandenong built me a full custom auto with upgraded internals to handle 550hp. I run an Ls chev & I did not want electrics (no computer). As I am in deep mud and water so electrics depletion was my agenda.
The HP/22-24 has not let me down at all. I am running 36" tyres and have around 180kw @ wheels.
    Fuel is my only issue.....

    And cleaning..

Not quite, the PO (East coast) did the installation, engine & gearbox and electrics/whatever - D2 was the donor vehicle.

IMHO, it's the drivetrain the LSE should have had as Original.
