    Nuther Classic

Finally managed to get this one, I’ve known about it for over 20 years but only been chasing it seriously the last couple. Bloke bought it new for a work vehicle, he is an electronic tech.
after doing just under 200,000 K’s in it he put it in the garage alongside his house. It’s been there for over 20 years till now. The vehicle is over 1800 K’s away from where I live so I got a local keen Land Rover mechanic to give it a once over. The machine is now running and hopefully ready for a delivery drive. I’m currently working overseas till July so with luck I will go and pick it up then. RR has an aftermarket aircon, fair bit of the dash has been cut up to fit it. Also fitted with a Thomas PTO driven winch mounted under the aftermarket aluminium bullbar.
Thoughts are at this stage clean it up inside and possibly remove the aircon and return the dash to standard. Thinking also of pulling of winch and bullbar and fitting standard front bumper on, never been a big fan of bullbars.

Well done and good to see someone taking it back to standard. Good luck with dash parts, I am in the same boat and have been searching everywhere for some decent early dash parts.

I have a 79 model missing most of the interior, the lower dash and under dash ducting looks ok apart from a few extra drilled holes. Hopefully I can fill the holes and paint it, the upper dash is a bit faded as so mebe do it as well.
The previous owner said the aircon was very efficient, it has a rotary compressor, normally around that age they had those clunky piston types. Where we live there is only a couple of weeks of really hot weather, I’m sure the quarter lights will work enough for that.
If I pull the Thomas winch off it that will free up the rear PTO for an overdrive, that would be my preference. Maybe I can get somebody who is after a winch and has an overdrive to do a deal?
