Do you have a spare coil that you can test with? No spark from the king lead I'd change the coil 1st if you have a spare.
Have you got the Bosch amp or the original Lucas one? Sounds like the problems I was having before on the D1

Somewhere in this thread is all the info you need to fix the sparks on your beast:
Lucas ignition amplifier replacement by Bosch 024
mmmm well I am none the wiser as to what i did to make it happen but we have ignition and the sweet humm of a V8.
after much testing things, out of frustration bought a new coil , after trying the old one out of my old XR ute which never achieved anything, along with the original from the car. Fitted new coil , and nothing , still no spark , went thru same testing and same results.
I removed the dizzy cap and played around with the rotor then unplugged and re - plugged in the amplifier , held down both buttons on the immobiliser for about 30 secs, turned the key and bugger me it started.
Now where's that donor D1 300tdi hiding.[bigrolf][bigrolf][thumbsupbig]

Mate it sounds like my d1, I gave it a wash and that was it no start after that. New leads, plugs, amp, different coils and new wiring, advanced and retard timing. Nothing at all, clicked my heels together 3 times whilst rubbing my belly and tapping my head then it fired up. They are bloody tempremental units that's for sure. I'd still keep the rangie a v8 personally, something about a screaming classic it just sounds right lol.
Glad you got it going!

Mmmmm - happened again today - no start , so after checking a couple of things 1 x 1 , i come to the amplifier plug on the dizzy, un-plug , check the condition of the plug and the blades , seem ok , check the wires near the plug and cant see no breaks , plug in and vroooommmm away she went.
SO,
Never had anything to do with these, are they a replacement thing ? Do they give trouble , or , should i be looking closer at the wiring side.
looks like the dizzy needs to be raised to remove it , so this will need the timing checked on refitting.
Suggestions , or, some tests that i should be looking at.
Thanks and Cheers Ean
