    Tacho stopped working

    Gday All,

    1990 model 3.9 is the tacho run off the electrics somewhere ? . Started the car today and no tacho , was working a few days back and the oly thing I have done is remove the air con pipes that run across the fire wall.

    Still learning to navigate the rave manual.

    Yep, the W terminal which is off one phase of the stator. You may have a dead alternator or you've knocked the wire off when working.

    Don't worry, I'm sure it'll have fixed itself by the time you use the car again ................................

    My tacho sometimes has a mind of its own. But it usually comes good after a short time.

    A loose or wet belt on the alternator can do it too, slowing the alternator right down after the battery has been drawn down.
