    Immobiliser woes

Hi all, I am new to the world of Classics and after wanting one for the last 40+ years I’ve finally bought one.
    It’s a ‘93 Vogue SE and I love it...
Well, I have a few niggling issues which are currently spoiling my enjoyment, top of which is the fact that the immobiliser seems to choose when I get to drive it.
Currently it’s sitting at home and refusing to start.
It has a new battery and it’s getting power as all accessories work and dash lights up when I turn the ignition key.
Central locking doesn’t lock or unlock on the remote and the alarm dash LED doesn’t flash.
I’m told that I need to follow the factory reset sequence to reset the immobiliser but I have two issues:
    1. I don’t know what the factory code is for my car
    2. The mechanic who did some work on it appears to have disconnected the drivers door key lock from the actuator/door lock so even if I had the code I can’t follow the sequence without having to pull the door trims off and see what the issue is.

Does anyone have any suggestions or advice on how I can overcome this?
At this stage I’m considering having the immobiliser bypassed just to get it running and perhaps aftermarket central locking and alarm.
    Thoughts or suggestions?
    Cheers

The immobiliser on those things only has one connection that matters, and that's to the relay for the starter motor. Once you've found the immobiliser (up under the dash somewhere, probably a green box) you only need to join up a couple of wires. Can't remember exactly which ones but it isn't hard to work out with a multi meter.

    Immoilizer bypass

    Hi,
I had the same issues with my 93.
I found a white bypass plug from an early 90's Disco which plugs into the immobilizer wiring and bypasses everything. You retain central locking and immobilization but via your door key. It seems to connect the starter wiring as an earlier post on here. The disco doesn't have an immobilizer but the wiring loom is ready for it in the future.
If you are interested I will see if I can find the part number.
    Cheers, techron

On the Disco it is under the dash just above where the passenger's knee would be. It is white with a single white loop wire.
