Are Electric seat bases welded or bolted?
Hi everyone, as the title says really! On a hard dash with memory seats are the seat bases (as in what attaches the seat and rails to the body) welded to the floor or are they removable?
cheers as always

I know on the soft dash they are bolted. I would assume they would be similar on the hard dash. Move seat right back to see if there is an allen key headed bolt. The same for the rear bolt, move seat right forward. I hope this helps.
Cheers, Phil.

Sorry mate I miss read your question. I am pretty sure that the bases are spot welded to the body.

Thanks Phill, I know they’re removable for a 1990 manual seat cos I’ve taken one out! And I know they’re removable on the D1. I wanted the electric base for the electric seats I’ve bought but I haven’t seen one in real life only pictures and it looks like they might be spot welded which is a pain- looks like I’ll have to adapt the manual ones and make room for the motors

Hi Tricky, where abouts in NSW are you? If you are in Sydney and not too far away, I could bring mine over for you to have a look. Phil.
