    14CU ECU

Does anyone know the difference between the PRC7440 and PRC4764 ECU’s in the 14CU flapper style EFI Range Rover Classics? When I got my classic it had a 7440 but I could never get it to run properly. I got hold of a 4764 and it ran pretty well. I sent the 7440 off to Injectronics to be repaired, they looked at it (for $185) and said there was nothing wrong with it. I have now got hold of another 7440 and my car will not run properly with this ECU in it either.
Are these two parts meant to be interchangeable and which should a 1988 model have from the factory?

My 89 has a PRC4764 in it. The other one you have might be for a Disco 1 3.5 Hotwire. What does Google tell you?
