The 60A Bosch in my car i fitted in 89 and its still going. How?? but not complaining
Yeah, I just grabbed a used alternator off fleabay. the advert said he's check the brushes and slip ring and htey look good (they are I checked)., So that should be a lot better than a cheap chinese replacement bit of junk Now to sort out why I suddenly have no headlights ......... Someday I need to fix the exhaust to... its beyond patching again ..... I'll try to find something that sounds nice. I'm not find on the "silent" factory system

Bosch universal.... That's the ticket. I was going to convert this one until I found the used one on fleabay. I haven't always been successful with them universals though. I fitted one to the Citroen CX about 10years ago. It drove me bat**** crazy. The battery was forever going flat and not charging. I found it only ever charged at 13.2volts.... which isn't enough to charge a calcium plate battery. I'd ordered an alternator that was "universal" .. designed for agricultural use ... 100amps of goodness. What I didn't realise was "agricultural" obviously means "trickle charge" as its meant for machinery that runs night and day without being switched off.

These days there is no telling where a product is manufactured, usually it's just "assembled" somewhere and a "Made in XYZ" sticker or stencil is applied.
Bosch have production all over the globe - just as an example, and your "made in XYZ" alternator could be parts from germany, britain, france, portugal, hungary, india, australia, taiwan, or PRC* but labelled where the final assembly took place.
Here's an example:
1Made in GB:

2. Made in Germany:

3. Overhauled with Genuine Bosch parts(OE MB genuine parts - note cap is Beru, not Bosch)

I'm only showing this as an example, but it's typically best to source gen-u-whine bosch bits from an authorized bosch distributor. So many PRC knockoffs that do not meet bosch manufacturing specs - so that is the risk and chance you take.
Surprisingly, the overhauled unit above, I used genuine MB boxed parts. A mixture of Bosch and Beru. Obviously EU manufactured.
I will save some discussion points for another post, but what you see in the images above are literally two identical (yes in a minute I'll explain) alternators.
Yes, they are physically different! I agree!
One is a superceded part number retrofit for the other.
Both are suitable fitment to MB petrol and diesel inline 6 cyl models from 1987-1998. No modifications no brackets nothing.
Guess which alternator can handle more current?
Guess which alternator is more efficient? (it's not what you are thinking, and also probably not the 'why')
Guess which one will require less ongoing maintenance?
Answers in next post. But I have a bit of an alternator side-gag / info-rant coming which I need to dissipate first, then come back.
Roads?.. Where we're going, we don't need roads...
