    1984 Radiator options?

Hi, I am just looking for radiator recommendations for 1984 3.5L V8 Carby?

I currently have a very old brass one and the cap has just sheared off at the filler neck. I may be able to get it repaired, but it's a very old radiator, so will consider other options.

I have a manual 3.9 D1 rad available in good condition but it’s in Melbourne. Would drop straight in I think. I have an Auto 3.9 in my classic and the D1 rad is a straight drop in.
If you need to contact me please email homestarrunnerau@gmail.com - thanks - Gav.

Drain and catch your coolant, remove the rad, repair it, refit and refill!

Sorry, just realised you are in Adelaide - looked at the wrong post for location. Offer is still there if you want it shipped.

    See my thread about replacements.

If you are handy with a blowtorch and know how to do "old school" soldering techniques (as in plumbing / draining / guttering / roofing etc. ), then it will be a piece of cake.

clean up the surfaces properly, apply some bakers soldering fluid, heat it up and wick in the solder - bearing in mind you need to have good control of temperature and not to overheat adjacent areas.

Then screw the plug back in with a new oring. bit of black enamel paint and bob's yer LGBTQ aunty.

Or go see adrad. Theyre in your neck of the woods and will replace the core as well for a tidy sum... ($$$$)
Roads?.. Where we're going, we don't need roads...
