Wood trim - repair
Hi,
I was about to attempt repair of the wood door trim, specifically reattaching the metal clips to the back.

Had the wood glue in hand when I thought there might be a better way.
So.. has anyone done this repair and what works best?
Had a search but couldn't find anything.
Any and all advance appreciated.
Thanks,
Rob

Use Locktite professional super glue, or any other resinous / gelatinous super glue.
Wood glue won't stick to metal or paint. If that clip is painted then sand the contact points back to bare metal before doing it and all will be good.
You could even drill the clips and use little screws through into the wood as well if you're an ex school teacher.

Trim adhesion
Nothing against Locktite - great brand, but it is permanent - maybe not what you want for this job. I suggest you get a cartridge of Fuller 303 - available from Mitre 10 but not Bunnings>
It is soft out of the tube, then sets fairly hard and is very effective for mounting almost anything. If you ever need to remove the trim again, just slide a thin knife blade under it
Hope this helps

Thanks DL and Alan,
After a bit of thought I couldn't think why I would ever want to remove them, so went the super glue option. Was also on hand, so that made the decision somewhat easier.
Cheers,

The clips are supposed to be attached to the bits of forest, and clip into the door frames don't they?
