I received an LT77/LT230 the other day and the gear lever and sundry parts had been removed for transport.
I didn’t know how the centring springs fitted so I watched a YouTube video to find out.
The guys fitting them were faffing about pushing the springs into place and then trying to install the bolts. Looked like a pain in the rrrrs.
I made this tool up.

Fit it to the spring like this.

Rotate it to line up spring with bolt hole.

Insert bolt.

As as I am yet to install this gearbox the gear lever will probably be removed and refitted several times before I’m finished, so it was well worth the 1/2 hour making the tool.
