    Fuel injector hose

Dear all, Would appreciate advice from the wise on this forum. Today I noticed a fierce spray of fuel coming from the short hose (about 25-30mm long) that goes from the fuel rail to the top of one of the injectors (the front one on the LH bank). I attach a photo, although it's not 100% clear due to the tight confines etc. Anyway, the hose in question appears between the two arrows and you'll see how it has deteriorated, allowing fuel to spray out sideways at an impressive rate. The letter 'A' in the photo denotes the front of the car. i have three questions...

1 - Are these hoses available as separate items?
2 - While they obviously have a simple standard hose clip at the top where they join the rail, as per the photo, they appear to be swaged on to the top of the injector itself. Do they just pull off the top of the injector (or am i doomed to buy new injectors because the hose is a part of same)
3 - being the LH bank I assume I'll have to remove the plenum etc to replace the hose? I note the RH bank are easily accessible, but life doesn't work that way of course!

    many thanks
    Rick

Thanks Bradtot - so what about the end of the hose that attaches to the injector itself....Does that require some sort of special fitting? As I said in my original post, it appears like it might be swaged on. If not, how does it attach? Thanks

The WSM section I've sent might help with the disassembly procedure, but doesn't have the hoses between the rail and the injectors.

There's a pic of the complete injector / hose here:

Hi I used clamps at either end of the hose for each hose.

350RRC - You're right, the WSM - as good as it is for most things on the old girl, for some reason doesn't give any detail of the short hose leading to the injector at all. The link you sent seems to confirm my fear that the hose comes as part of an injector - ouch, not liking that idea at $250 ea!

Bradtot - I like your idea. I would imagine if a hose clamp is good enough where it joins the actual rail, it should also be good enough at the injector end. Given many of the other injector hoses are showing signs of cracking I'll buy a length of EFI hose and see how it goes.

Thanks all. Would still welcome hearing from anyone else who has faced this problem. Surely my car isn't the only one that has sprung a leak from one of these little hoses?

When I had to replace a fuel hose on my V-Strom, I used fuel injection hose from an auto parts store and the clips designed for that application, not jubilee clips as shown in your photo.

i'd suggest (if you're going down this path) to do some research on appropriate hose clamps.

I wouldn't be using the normal worm drive ones.

The pic in the link I posted has a different type as part of the injector / hose assembly........there are other types, as I've just seen Ron mention.

I bought new hoses and fittings for the hoses from "Mr Injector UK". Cant remember how much but they fitted straight on (with fuel rail removed).
