    Wheel Alignment Measurements

I seem to recall from a long time ago that it might be the RRC that has two sets of figures for wheel alignment (camber or toe in/out?) and if so obviously one is incorrect.

I'm about to get a wheel alignment done on the LSE after having the various suspension bits checked and replaced as necessary.

I don't have any steering slack or a wander as such, but if I hold the steering wheel in one position the car could gradually turn slightly either to the right or to the left, possibly dependent on minor camber variations. Not bad for a nearly 30 year old car, albeit with still under 200K km.

So, can anyone confirm that the factory figures are correct or?
MY16 D4 TDV6 - with a little Cambo magic for towing "The Brick"
MY95 RRC LSE Vogue Softdash "Bessie" (turning circle comparable to QE II) with MY99 TD5 and 4HP24 transplants. Back home Nov 22 after a magic overhaul by Chivalry
SADLY SOLD MY04 D2a TD5 auto Classic and MY10 D4 2.7 both with lots of goodies

Factory specs for a '74 are 1.2 to 2.4 mm toe OUT for alignment, adjustable.

Non-adjustable..... camber 0 deg, castor 3 deg, king pin inclination 7 deg.

Spring lifted vehicles were sometimes brought to stock castor by slotting and rotating the swivel balls. 'Castor correction bushes' are just a bodge because they point the diff snout downwards away from the front transfer case output shaft.

I'm not aware of the figures changing over the years.

    cheers, DL

    Thanks for that.

Was that (19) 74 or (19) 94 - or are they both the same anyway?

    74, but AFAIK same same.

Remember that LR didn't change much over time coz it cost money and the RRC body dies wore out before the chassis ones.................. hence the Disco.etc, etc.
