Range Rover Classic 93 alarm system

    Hi,
I have a 93 RR Classic and I have followed some online instructions to locate the alarm module, Lucas 17VT, snipped a wire and I'm confident the immobilizer is not operational. Unfortunately that cant be said for the alarm horn, which I have confirmed is not the vehicle horn, and goes off sporadically, so much so that I disconnect the battery. I have read that the siren/horn is located in the passenger side engine compartment near the window washer container and I was hoping to just disconnect it. I have thoroughly searched (maybe not enough) this area and cannot find it but I can confirm when it goes off its definitely located pretty close to this spot. I have read today that the K189 horn relay is located behind the LH footwell trim panel, is it a possibility that this can be removed to disable the horn?
There is also some shorting of wires or dirty actuators on the central locking system because it unlocks then can lock without assistance - but this will be another topic. If I can silence the alarm horn first the neighbours will be happy.
    Thanks

Range Rover Classic 93 alarm system

    Hi,
Ive just read that the alarm siren/horn is behind/underneath the decker panel. A bonnet and the decker to remove, but there is also what appears to be an access panel behind the washer container that may allow access without the bonnet and decker removal. I'll find out.

The 'access panel' is actually a blanking plate that was used on either side (with the pedal box on the other) , depending on whether the car was intended for a RHD or LHD market. The body shells are symmetrical.

    cheers, DL
