    Yes- and no. Fitting original shroud would be a PIA and no I'm not going back to original viscous fan been there and I much prefer electrics.
    There's a decent shroud on this new radiator so fitting two decent fans is very simple job which is where I'm at.

    The tolerances between the fans and the shroud are way smaller as well.

    Twin fans with shroud from a falcon fit the RRC rad perfectly.

    Oh I know, I have a set in my car. I just figure a large engine driven fan will always be better at cooling and more reliable. the fan can take many horsepower to run, and it doesn't really matter as its being driven directly by the engine.

    eg: I've never heard of anyone successfully replacing a Citroen DS engine driven fan with an electric, no matter how big and reliable/good the electric fan is. It must be how powerful the engine driven fan is (probably the angle of the blades etc), it can just move so much more air than a small electric fan is capable of.

    Many vehicles don't have a mechanical fan anymore so i believe the right size fan/airflow can replace a mechanical fan.

    I have a set of Falcon fans with the should sitting here and have considered putting them on my 1988 model RR.

    Do you run one fan all the time, and the second fan kicks in at a certain temperature?

    I just run a simple series/parallel circuit and a readily available temp switch. all just scavanaged from parts cars around the yard.

    I think its to do with the radiators being physically larger, you can fit bigger/more fans across the face of it (rather than smaller with a larger number of cores that need air to be drawn through them).

    correct, Ive got the falcon fans on a custom radiator on the front end of arkie most of the time i dont need the fans but even up near a full 8t load on a 40 degree day heading north out of sydney the electric fans keep arkie cool.
