I remember watching a 4wd action DVD of this bloke. He sure does blow his own trumpet a lot; my wife called him 'toss winkle the pirate'.
Freezing steel for improved wear is well known in the racing industry, Heat Treating : anvilfire.com. But, it's a complicated process, and I reckon there'd be a lot cheaper way to achieve greater strength. Having custom made stubs out of chromoly wouldn't be to difficult. I'd also like to know what he's done to the cv's, as they're the known weak spot.
Suspension is the link to the G-Force system - admitantly it's pretty good. He's got one of the earlier models that has no ecu. There's a hydraulic valve block that controlls all the stuff on his. Though to be honest - i'd be buying a rolled D2, and swapping the ACE system over - I know there's room cause i've measured it all up:D.
Personally I see a vehicle like this at quite limiting. There's no way i'd be putting my family in that to go to Queensland - the c.o.g would be so high, yes the G Force system is good, but it can't change the laws of physics.
It would have a good comp rig though.
