    G'day all

    Just a quickie

Can I replace my full metal jacket filter with a generic plastic?

    thanks

as well as the casing strength issue l-jet efi is reliant on fine filtration too.

bosch pt no F5030. common as muck, any repco etc. i paid $24 from my local specialist french car parts guy last week (many euro cars use this filter).
ryco cross reference is z168, commoner still, supercheap were about $10-$15 last time i looked.

make sure you follow the flow direction arrows ON THE NEW FILTER rather than just based on the orientation of the old filter. some after market items have the 'can' closure the other way round as well as needing tape wrapped around them to fit securely in the holding clamp.

thanks pomonastik - will give my local a call - might buy 2 as I'll be changing them myself these days as my local RR guy has departed the scene.

    cheers
