Problem fixed thanks to Jason - ta mate.
Door came apart OK, trim off, window up, undo the window frame and lift so you can get to the door lock, undo all the linkages, take out door handle, undo and lift up door lock until you can see the broken little spring and replace it, then put it all back together. All up took about an hour. At last I can use the drivers door again with out having to open the back door to lift the button on the front. Thanks again Jason

Hi Neil, sorry for the late reply but just got back from the Kimberley last night. Got one spring from a guy in melb but got the other from Jason from a Disco 1 door lock. Apparently you can get a set of four on ebay
