I like the 2Door in blue. Nice condition as well.

Nothing wrong with the BFGs ATs. They are a bloody good tyre. Just turn the white lettering inwards
You really need a HT. Highway Terrain.

If you want original get the Michelin

the original tyres on the 2 doors were Michelin XM in a 205/16 and look like a fairly open tread pattern, slightly more aggressive than an all terrain. Like a little brother to a steeltrek or super digger.

I dont suppose they still make them but I have some Michelin 205/80/16's on an old set of RRC rims that look pretty stock. They are the Michelin XPC's but are a fairly road orientated tyre.

Whereabouts are you? Looking at your photo, I would say Goulburn, NSW way but I could be wrong.

I have a near new set of Pirellis in the original size (205/80/16) that I can't see myself using in the near future. If you're near Sydney, that might be an option for you.


BTW, did your RR come from around the NSW Central Coast area? It looks like one I used to know.

My 1990 RR has a spare tyre that looks as if it and the rim has never been on the car/road, but has spent its whole life just being carried around in the back of the raingie. the rim is absolutely unmarked and has probably never been out of the back of this RR. It is a Michalin 205 R 16. If you want more info ask and I will pull the tyre out to get all the info. I think the hand book also mentions which tyres were on it when new. I think this tyre was able to take snow studs, at least it appears so. Do not know who was the original 1990 purchaser, but have the RR history since 1993--40 thousand kilometers on clock.

Cooper AT's is what I have at the moment, they are wicked.
I also recommend my all time favourite, the Michelin XPC's.
they were standard fitment for most RRC's.

I do believe that they stopped making them now but I am sure they will still be around 2nd hand as some folks like big fat tyres with huge tread and no gripp on the road but thats another story.
