    Wanted Rear Diff

I need a rear diff for a 93 classic if any one has or knows of where I can get one for a sensible price in the Perth area.

Can anyone advise on what other models use is the same diff as my RR. Are disco diffs the same from some models? I can only find some discos have a rubber coupling ( I think no good for me) and earlier ones dont and could possibly be the same.....Are the fronts and rears the same? .......I have found someone with D2 front and rear diffs and dont know if either will be any good. I am still looking.

    Hi Wayne

Can you confirm if you have 10 spline (course) or 24 spline (Fine)

    My thoughts are .....

Disco diff will do ... but some are reverse cut (I think) ... It is best to get a Rear Diff .... as the Crown & pinion has bedded for that direction

The flange of the Disco diff can be taken off and replaced with your pinion flange ... is yours a 3 or 4 hole flange

But a D2 diff being compatible .... Slightly out of my depth here ... I don't know ... Yours should be a 3.54? check that the replacement is the same gearing ...

Someone else (Brains Trust) will give a clearer answer

Did you get that link I posted?

    Mike

How much of a hurry are you in to get one?

I'll have a 10 spline one out of my 90 soon. Alternatively, if you're interested in a Maxidrive difflocked complete rear axle, I might have one of those available as well.

    Cheers

Thank to all who have given me advise on tried to help, I now feel a bit of a plank as I was told by a wreckers on sat that my diff was definatly a 24 spline as my car has ABS and traction control so have been trying to find the wrong one.
Anyway today I have finally had time to get the car up on stands and pull the half shafts and low and behold its a 10 spline diff. Maybe its been swapped in the past but thats what I need.

    hi wayneg,

i recently had to replace the front diff on my 84 rangie, and I got a 2nd-hand reconditioned one from Rovacraft in Bayswater for $400 or $500..

but, I also saw in the quokka this week a bloke in the hills wrecking an 86 Rangie - these should have a course spline so maybe you can pick one up cheap?

    cheers, josh
