Hi everyone, I am also looking for a nice RRC probably 89-93 model. The rangie will need to be dual fuel though as the economy of petrol V8 seems a bit eye watering. Anything considered and price based on condition/history/work done. I am located in country Vic.
Thanks mate, I looked at a 93 hard dash with all the fancy electronics, no gas and an optimistic price of $15K. Just getting in the car to look at it without the alarm going nuts was enough to decide on a less complicated model.
There is a 90 for sale locally with straight gas (on carsales at the moment ) for just over $6, almost right for me by seller recons it only has a 60 litre tank! Great for going to the shops but not much use for anything else. I guess I could replace the tanks with bigger or put the petrol tank back...but then that would cost extra $$
Not sure if u found one, but I've got a 90 Auto, dual fuel, 128K on clock...
If you think you might like to get into some moderate to hard four wheel driving in the future then you will regret buying anything later than a 1988 model, unless you have a botomless pit of money.
Here is a list of bad things for four wheel driving on post 88 models
1. Viscous Tranfer Case (wont let your steer properly when reversing down steep hills)
2. Smaller C.V. joints (break easier and more expensive to mod when diff lock fitted)
3. ABS Brakes ( steep decent ungood on loose surface)
4. Air Suspension ( prone to blown bags)
5. Plastic ends on heater core (after 89 break with off orad use difficult and expensive to fix because of access)
Just food for thought.
