mid to low teens!!!!!
Thats ridiculas.
the 5L transplant is good but not that good.
G'Day all, I have a line on a Gassed red308 '77 2door for mid to low teens. Is this conversion known for any particular issues? Engine is the only non RR equipment in the driveline. Has lifted springs and 31"s on it.
Body is rusty in the sills and corner of engine-bay. Sills will be going for sliders, but if I can see rust in the bay, where will the associated rust be?
Thanks in advance. Dave.

There is a 5.0l blueprinted stroker powered '82 RRC 5 door in Darwin at the moment with a blown clutch for $1200.
If you buy this 308 thing (I assume you mean mid to low teen hundreds, not thousands),watch for driveshaft splines flogging out, unis,cv's,and clutch.
Rust may be in plenum,yuck.![]()
If you do end up buying it I've got all the structural components for sale to complete the body swap etc.
If there is rust in the sills these will need to be repaired/replaced as they are structural and usually people attached the sliders to them.
Places to look for rust:
Sills - as mentioned
rear chassis cross member - behind where the fuel tank was/is
both footwells
inner guards - between the brake booster and the side of the car
around where the fuel filler is in the back floor
under the spare wheel
check for cracking of the fire wall near the body mount on the chassis (back of engine)
Mid to low teens seams a lot even with an engine transplant

Oh, That sort of low teens.
Could make a good project though.
They are cheap to re-build.
Good luck
Thats pretty good if its rego'd with the 308, sills are easy to replace cost me $15 for the local steel merchant to fold me up a set in gal and about an hour to weld in. Even the floor is easy enough to patch if needed or just unbolt and replace. Body mounts in the engine bay tend to hold water/mud and rust out, bottom of the A and B pillars rust where they meet the sills.
