Looking for Help -
Initially ABS pump runs for 30 sec before all lights off (except ABS light which goes out when driving a little). If I turn-off & restart ABS pump runs <4 sec before cutting out (upto pressure). Leaving the ignition on the pump cuts in briefly after ~2 minutes. With the car turned off for several hours the fluid returns to the reservoir (from level mark to completely full) and turning ignition on takes 30 secs before ABS pump cuts off.
Once upto pressure with ignition on, depressing brake pedal a few times the pump responds quickly so don't suspect pump. No fluid leaks anywhere. - I think accumulator or check valve leaking.
Any ideas ???
Mike,
The reservoir has min & max level mark (only 10mm difference) when system is upto pressure the level sits between the marks after several hours the reservoir is completely full to filling cap. If the ignition is switched on and ABS pumps for 30sec level returns to between the max/min marks
Your problem is the issue of ??? .....

If you are only getting 2 pumps from the brake pedal and then the pump runs, suspect the accumulator is weak.

The Isuzu 110. Solid and as dependable as a rock, coming soon with auto box😊
The Range Rover L322 4.4.TTDV8 ....probably won't bother with the remap..😈
That's normal. Bleeddown will always occur. Everythings normal!
The ABS pump will always top up the pressure from time to time.
If you have a problem, dash light will come on while operational.
Just remember that when you top up the reservoir, pump the brake pedal with the ignition off to raise the fluid level then top up. DON'T topup with a fully pressurized accumulator or you end up with fluid everywhere!
Correct . Anything less than 6 may mean the accumulator is losing it's strength. If you are only getting 2 pumps from the brake pedal and then the pump runs, suspect the accumulator is weak.
Cheers
