Yesterday did a service. Checked oils in gbox n transfer. Clean as. Diffs great. Grease up. Brakes etc. All good.

Today i did this. They were all stuffed. Also found out why the heater wasnt getting hot. Kinked hose. Heater core full of mud as well. All flushed now. Bit of crap came out the radiator. Nice and clean now. Ready for another 100k. All British day tomorrow. Will be there. Land rovers are out in the sticks this time. I spose we cant be centre stsge every year...

Haulmark single axle 750 kg won at Minto Auction.

After much research and indecisiveness I decided to purchase the trailer to tow behind my Perentie FFR "SAPPER" knowing now that it will fit my drz. Very happy indeed even though she cost a bit more than expected. (They all went for more than I thought they would). Now to decide on whether or not to have it hauled down or to get ready for a little road trip I'm thinking road trip who needs an excuse for that? Not me.IMG_5837.jpgIMG_5834.jpg

Big thanks to Blknight and Brett Wild in particular for furnishing me with information that helped me come to this purchase. I'm sure I have bothered others with trailer questions as well thankyou all.

archaeopteryx, thermo fans and a new battery

Arkie got herself a set of thermo fans out of a diesel VW jetta that got itself roo'ded, a davis craig thermo fan controller to make them work, A new second hand CAT battery cause muppets at work cant test batteries, alternators or startermotors and just love throwing batteries as a first go solution, with the cable mod for the earth to enable the reverse battery terminal position so the hood support cant touch the + terminal.

    And, I bled the clutch...

Test runs show... I can now accelerate up one of the local hills in 3rd where before I had to make a run in 4th and down change or crawl up in 2nd

Coolant temps are stable with the fans and Im guessing that the OEM fan was huge overkill as my fans didnt kick in at all on the high speed highway run and held the temp when I worked it hard on the hills abusing the low down torque. (And I'm set pretty conservatively on the temperatures.)

Just need to make up a top baffle plate, organize a new radiator, and hoses (anyone got the OEM numbers for the 6x6?) and....
