Hi guys, i had and interesting little conversation today over the phone with the engineer of the perentie he still works there...well now he owns the joint where they made now. he was telling me the 1st concept they did and showed the army was a 110 they cut down the middle and widened 20cm and showed that to the army, and thats how they got the contract for the perentie.he said he still has all the plans on paper in the office for the perentie. he was telling me the only part that was pressed was the B pillar everything else was just folded.
of interest for many here he said they have a lot of spares still and has started to throw them out to clear room. i told him he should advertise them here but didnt seem to be too interested.
1 thing i didnt know was the body is gal dipped too.
its interesting to have a yarn with him he seemed to like the chat about the perentie.
How do we get into contact with this person? Very keen on a chat

Good luck with the return journey.
Remember to check all fluids, wheel nuts and particularly the prop shaft bolts.
Just talking to a bloke that had a rear shaft let go on a 6x6 on its trip home from Grays. Big mess including a shattered transfer case...:o
Collectively, we have seen TOO many loose bolts on things spinning at high revs!
Gave it a wash, then headed off to the local "Show" for a Club Day to exhibit it with all the other "H" Plate registered vehicles.
Arrived home late arvo and the wife chucked her swag in the back of it and has taken it up along the Murray River somewhere for the night camping with friends. The joys of shiftwork, I couldn't go as I have to work tomoz! :(
I hope she looks after it!!!
