Got lucky there Badco! a little more water and that would have been expensive.
The air cleaner drums are not water tight, apparently someone on the forums here (can't find the post now) makes some sort of kit that makes the lid seal on the drum.
I think in this scenario a mechanic will pull the injectors and crank the engine to get the water out of the cylinders.
Might be worth changing the engine oil. good thing 15w40 is cheap and you can do it yourself pretty easily (if I can do it, anyone can!)

How do they not force water down the intake when driving into rain?
