Sediment filter, maybe not all perenties have them as I know not all TDi's had them. Mine is located just behind the fuel tank on my FFR, it's a small alloy cup with a plastic type wing nut on the bottom. Don't try undo the wing nut as they can break, instead undo the bolt on top think it was 11mm and should just lower off, clean and rinse with diesel then fill with diesel before replacing.

I've had a few Beers so I hope this makes sence....

The fuel sedimentor separates any water from the diesel using the gravity difference before it enters the injection pump... In my experience cleaning this should be a first priority when buying any used diesel vehicle as water and other contaminants can destroy a diesel... As people say clean air, clean diesel and good oil means a diesel will last forever...

    Thats the one, mate.
Just take care as they can be stuck hard and the plastic becomes brittle when old. Take the time to encourage it to release rather than brute force it. Let it run until pure diesel comes through.
    Cheers, BDave.

I would also open it up and clean it out. It's in 3 segments with o rings in between. It comes apart by undoing a 11mm bolt head at the top.

    Here's a photo:

Do you mean poor diesel through it until it comes out clean looking?

Badco, just check the drain insitu weekly or monthly if you have a good fuel source and dont go near water. For an initial once over, follow RARs instructions and remove disassemble to be sure.
