Yep i seen it on fb. Someones 2 kids were driving. Obviously old enough to drive. Got rear ended by b double. Both walked away. Very lucky id say. If it was a modern SUV it would prob been a fatal. Would have squashed like a concertina.

    Cheers Rod

As a parent with one who so desperately wants to drive 'modern plastic' and another who does not, this gives us all food for thought. Thank God they walked away.

Depending on factors like time of day, position of sun etc etc it would not surprise me if at least one of the semi drivers just did not see the camo LR - it gets very flat out there and can cause long shadows.

Obviously I'm thankful to read that they all walked away

Today I picked up another now repaired and galvanised bulkhead in 48-010 and dropped more bits in to be done for next time. None of it actually for 48-010 - it already has a gal bulkhead - it just does the grunt work.

After two days of the little guy not flying away I put some water in the back for him, then he flew a day later leaving me to 'tidy up' after him on the rear bumper, right bench seat and even the driver's side seat.....all under mama's watchful eye. (She didnt even offer to clean up after her unflighted little one).

two rear facing seats in back of FFR Perentie in NSW

Hi. New to Perenties and have read all posts on this forum re seats etc. Very informative. My Perentie 4X4 FFR is second car. Occasionally need to pick up kids for school sport etc. It is not main use. Want to provision for 5 seats and have spoken to Hornsby engineer who usually fits seats. I want safety and space so I am thinking of middle seat in front and two rear facing seats and wondering if anyone has experience and photos and whether possible to buy second had seats from other cars and if so which cars. Main use for car is to drive to ferry to get to work, occasionally drive to work and camping with plans for Northern Aus trip. Inspired by photos I have seen from other posters, and of course Les Hiddins. Cheers JM

Well today i picked up a new 90 fuel tank to replace the perentie's rusted tank. Genuine perentie tank $1895. Genuine 90 steel fuel tank $320. Differences?? Ok, the 90 tank has a relief in it to allow clearance for the front of the rear lower arm to bolt onto the chassis. A loss of about 5 litres of fuel. The outlets are the same except the breather hose is about 10mm lower than the perentie tank. Inconsequential. Bolts up exactly the same. Fuel pick up and sender units fit the same. The blanking plate will fit the same too. Pro's? Brand new tank. Clean and rust free. Cheaper than an original tank. Fits the same. Con's? Loss of about 5litres of fuel capacity. Big deal. Fuel gauge tells u when fuel is getting low.

Can carry 2 jerrys on the back if ur worried.

Far as i can work out its a win win situation. Im gonna be happy anyway.

    Cheers Rod
