Sprayed and polished Barney with Inox MX4 lanolin today. Comes up a treat I must say.
yep,
nup
yep.
the cheapest new radiator was going to cost me 1200 and 2 weeks delay
the cheapest new intercooler that needed a custom radiator was going to cost me $900
just recoring the old radiator was going to cost $900 and at least a weeks delay for an oem style core
modding the new radiator OR having a custom one made was going to cost me $1500 either way
Making the mounts, faffing having to go and find bits and bobs and generally jinking around would take who knows how long between normal work times and the other crap I get roped into.
I needed it running in less than a fortnight for a job
easier to pay for it, get it upgraded and get it all in one go.
for those intereseted, the old core is a narrow 1/2 inch 3 core with the finning at 19 fins an inch, the new one is a wide 3/4 inch core with the fins at eith 15 or 13 fins per inch and its getting a custom shroud to better fit the thermos While being positioned in such away that the viscous hub and oem landrover type fan (if I ever manage to find the narrow clutch version) will still fit behind the radiator, and why...
more cooling with better dust resistance.
and no, with what its got I dont need the intercooler, it runs nice and rock steady as is but on paper it should provide a marginal improvement in economy at normal cruise speeds and load. As the name of the game is Range.... Arkies getting a front mount intercooler (and in no small way is it to do with I am getting naffed at having to pull the cross over pipe to do my valve checks every 3-5 months)

Replaced the front parking lights and indicators (non LED), as well as other blackout light. Replaced washer motor behind front left headlight so I have fluid now!
Drained the fuel sedimenter today, just clear diesel no crud! Worked I’m getting 13.9km/l.
Bought a couple of floor mats from landybitz which are great in the cabin. Also fitted some marine carpet in the rear courtesy of Bunnings .
