RFSV Auxiliary Fuel Tank not working

    Hello

The auxiliary (passenger side) fuel tank on my RFSV has stopped working. When I switch over nothing changes. I have checked the supply fuse and all connections at the tank. Also the solenoid connections seem ok.

I cant find any information in the manual that I have. Is there a manual covering the Aux tank? If someone would be kind enough to send me the relevant section of their manual that would be appreciated.

    Any other suggestions?

    Regards
    Andrew

It's not your Tank that's not working, (I presume it's still holding fuel?), but the changeover valve.

The valve is an electric solenoid which not only changes the inlet lines from the 2 tanks to the lift pump, but also has electric contacts which change the reading on the fuel gauge to read the level in the tank the fuel is being drawn from.

Check to see if you have any changes at the terminals on the valve when you switch the dash switch. If you get no change at the valve, your dash switch circuit is defective. If you get polarity or voltage changes at the valve, but it does not operate, then the valve is defective.

The valves are made by POLLAK, part number 42-159. These are readily available on E-BAY US

I found the insulation on the supply wire to the valve had rubbed through on the air filter housing. I repaired the wire and put piece of rubber there to stop it happening again
What threw me... the fuse was incorrectly marked The three inline fuses were mixed up. See attached diagram for the Pollak valve, Its pretty simple how it works.
