Yes fading is UV damage , the UV stabilizers in the painted pattern on the canvas is not very strong

    G'day Folks

The way I was taught with Landrover canvas tops, and as I have done on my 2a and lightweight is to wet it down with a hose, then pull/adjust tightly and leave out in the sun to dry, worked a treat on both my series, but they have reasonably thick canvas,so I would suggest that you use disgression on tightening down.

I am off to look at some Perenties on Monday in Brisbane, and will get one as soon as I sell my Lightweight,24V with 33,140 miles on it

    cheers

    Hi Kevin,

Yes you are correct, my comment in previous message was

"If you restrain it then wet it the canopy will "set" and not shrink after that."

The new poly/cotton canvas has a much higher tear and tensile strength than the old duct canvas which was thicker and heavier.

    cheers
    Scott

The top came from Robco canvas who make them for the army. Cost for the GS canvas was $1500.
