Oil pressure

no need on the 4bd1, theres 2 senders for on/off type switches and depending on what oil filter setup you have a few other places you can tap and T into to get extra sender locations.

you could for instance tap the oil line fitting for the vac pump on the alternator fit the idiot light to that and then put your mechanical sender in the spot that you just freed up.

Mine will be going in a tee before the turbo oil feed. You could probably do the same with the idiot light sender, it just looked to hard to get too.

Probably the easiest way to add a mechanical sender unit is to remove the reverse light pressure switch, join the 2 wires and put the mechanical sender in it's spot. It is standard 1/8 gas fitting. And you will still have the idiot light and now have reverse lights without the engine running - if that's any advantage!!

Your battery might go flat if you park down hills haha.

It's easy enough to put a tee on the vac line. Where about is the reverse sender?

On the oil filter housing on the 4x4 and on the end of the brass stalk on the 6x6 turbo motor. It has 2 green wires that go to it, 1 male and 1 female so its easy to join them - just push them together.
