I run tubes in mine. I am happy to to so.
Others are running them tubeless without issue.
The issue is the standard Perentie AYG8108 rim does not have the safety bead.
Refer attached photo. The rim on the left has a safety bead, the rim on the right does not.

Oh, I think legally, you can run a tube in a tubeless tyre but you can't run a tube type tyre without a tube. That is what I have been told. I have not been able to find it in writing.

Thanks mick was not sure i will ring around to see if can buy two as my ones on the front are not to good due to bad wheel alignment.

You won't find zxl tyres as they don't exist!

You'll have more luck with XZL, these tyres have been around since the 1960s and were the original fitment to Land Rover SIIA and SIIB forward controls. They can be hard to find, your best bet is to find a Michelin truck tyre agent.

The main difference between tubed and tubeless tyres are that inside the case of a tubed tyre is smoothed during manufacture (an extra process) where tubeless tyres remain rough inside.

The argument about tubed tyres and tubeless tyres have been around for ages, staking a sidewall on a tubeless tyre can be just as dangerous as on a tubed tyre. The rule is that you need to have the tyres and rims in good condition and if they are steel belted tyres they need to be replaced by age as well as when worn.

If using tubes inside tubeless tyres be sure to have them clean and remove any internal stickers before fitting. Using a liberal dusting with talc can reduce friction on the tube. Always use good quality named brand tubes, Michelin, Bridgestone etc not cheap Chinese or un-branded tubes. You may pay more up front but you'll find it better in the long term.

Jax tyres in Howitt st Ballarat. Get them. They don't show on the computer but when they Michelin they are available.

I got some for a bit over $220 each.

It was a few months ago now but the dealer in Mildura was selling them for $169.

So if these tyres are available new from $169 - $220, I assume fitted and balanced why have people paid $218 (price from one of the grays lots I looked at - 749 +6% + 10% for 4 tyres) for unfitted, undelivered and perhaps old (I didn't investigate their age) tyres?
