This thread reminds me of when I was younger and very slightly sillier. Driving around in low range in my County, just conquered some powerlines tracks thinking i'm king ****, saw a murky 110 sized puddle and thought 'i'll make a splash and empty that puddle' and drove/dove into it in fourth low. Should have been second low but adrenaline and testosterone was peaking...
Water over the bonnet. Rocks or logs on the bottom. Bucking and bouncing. She starts to lug. And chug. It felt like I could count each separate cylinder beat. But no stall here my friends, thumpity thump went the big four pot diseasel and up and out we pull, with water pouring through the heater vents and all.
Whereas my mate's td5 110 had to do everything at twice the engine speed and triple the bounce despite being chipped for torque and with a locker.
The torque, even below idle, is sensational!
