    Axle / cv

    Hi all,
I busted an axle the other day, Just wanted to know where the best place to buy one was ?
I don't want to go the Ashcroft direction just yet , The axle housing is in bad shape welded up , so will get another housing an ATB and Ashcroft axles all at once down the track .
But just to get me by until then ?

Also how do you remove the cv joint from the axle ?
    thanks

You knock the CV off the half shaft. Sometimes then can get stuck. Something a bit soft to reduce the shock from the hammer is a good idea as you can crack the CV if you hit too hard.

I use a long bit of pipe or scaffold tube a bit longer than the axle but of a size that bears on the cv then just drop the pipe and all end on , onto the cement floor. Knocks the CV off.
