I set up my number 5 trailer with the same wheels and tyres so they are inter-changeable between car and trailer. I also am able to carry a couple of spares on the RFSV and another on the number 5.

I am really happy with these wheels and tyres and would recommend tubeless wolf rims and BFG's. It did cost a bit to set it up as the Wolf rims are not that cheap and BFG's are at the top end of the tyre choice but in this case you get what you for.

Much quieter and a better ride both for comfort and steering than the original tubed split rims shod with the original Michelin tyres.

Some images below of my set up.

I like the trailer set up. I did something similar with my Track RAAF trailer. Is that a boat trailer board on the trailer?

Yes. I took the original lights off when I cut the rear of the trailer out to make the tail gate. I will put the original lights back on but just haven't got around to it yet and I needed to get it on the road for that trip north in winter this year.

Lucky you getting hold of a Track RAAF trailer. Very envious! I would have loved to get one but as far as I know there are none left to sell, at least on the west coast where I live.

    Regards Warrick.

Dazza these relics are around 30 years old so if your under 50 you would not now what a non safety rim was there are plenty of keyboard heros on here

My comment was in reference to you saying the Aust army fitting tubes in radial tyres.
Where as tyre manufacturers and the tyre centres say that putting tubes into tubeless tyres creates a lot of heat build up due to the rough internal surface on a tubeless tyre and the internal coating on a tubeless tyre. This seems to be backed up by other real world use where owners have said they got a lot more flats with tubes in tubeless tyres, due to the above.

My other comment was in reference to you stating insurance Co's not covering if tubeless tyres are fitted to tubed "non safety" wheels.
I stated I didnt believe this to be correct as I cant find any reference stating this to be illegal.

I also mentioned that as a tubeless tyre is a tighter fit on a wheel than a older tubed type tyre, so the likely hood of one un-seating off the wheel is likely to be less than the old style of tubed wheels.

Most of what I state is IMHO unless it comes with some Gov reg or Aust Standard or ISO. To make statements such as you did with regards to insurance cover I believe (IMHO) is mis-leading.

and again...if someone provides some gov standard, reg etc etc, I will stand corrected.
    Regards
    Daz
