Hi Greg,
I do have the rear step but it has been removed and put into storage. The previous owner of mine was the ADF as I purchased my RFSV through Australian Frontline Machinery when they were using Grays Online for military disposal sales.
The tyres are BF Goodrich
255-85-16. They are a taller tyre and I think work out to be a bit over 33" in the old measurements. It gives the RFSV a bit of a higher cruising speed being a slightly bigger diameter than the original Michelin tyres on the solid split rims. I really only cruise on 90 - 95 kms per hour max anyway. I find that a good balance of noise and fuel economy on the open road. The BF Goodrich
255-85-16's are a very good tyre both on and off road too. I have easily seen 100 000 kms out of my first set of tyres. I would recommend them but they are at the higher end of the price point than other tyres on the market, but you get what you pay for. I have replaced the worn BF Goodrich
255-85-16's with new ones.
Yes mine is an original Pilbara Norforce vehicle and the RFSV's that were auctioned in Western Australia to my knowledge were 99% Pilbara Norforce. I believe a few Pilbara Norforce vehicles did find their way to the East Coast as I seem to remember at least 1 being offered for auction at Minto a few years ago. All the Pilbara Norforce RFSV's that I have seen have the red Pilbara, Sand and Olive Green camouflage paint on them, however I did see someone selling one a few months ago in Victoria with the Black, Sand and Olive camouflage paint scheme. The owner had a plate riveted onto the ROPS stating it was Pilbara Norforce though. Is that the one that you purchased?
Interestingly the Pilbara Norforce RFSV's that I have seen in Western Australia haven't had the Pilbara Norforce plate attached.
My inside set up is exactly the same as it came from the ADF except I did have to remove the rear dickie seat to get it licensed on Western Australian plates. I have put the dickie seat into storage. I have met another owner here in WA though who had an engineer approve the dickie seat as a third seat and it has been installed facing forward for his daughter to sit in. So it is possible here in WA to do if you get it engineered.
Good luck getting yours on the road. Look forward to seeing some images of it when you get a chance to post them. The 3 images below are my RFSV as purchased from Frontline Machinery. The 4th image is mine with the rear step and brand new BF's.
The last image is the Pilbara plate attached to the ROPS of the Black, Sand and Olive camouflage paint scheme RFSV that was for sale a couple of months ago in Victoria.
Regards Warrick.
